  3. Our Vicar Rev. Dr. Viji Daniel thanked the men’s fellowship members for their involvement in activities in the church. He commended activities such as organizing general talks on car maintenance, health and fire prevention for the parishioners but however emphasized again the need for greater spiritual input; the vicar mentioned that the MF should create an environment of trust and mutual respect where men in the Parish can feel safe to share spiritual, personal and emotional needs. He further recommended that the MF organize more talks and seminars dealing specifically with issues and problems that are common to men e.g. Role of men in the family (which was well organized), Financial management, Relationship Issues, Sexual Issues etc
In addition to our on-going plans, the vicar suggested all men to:
    i) Visit Christian book shops for good resources for Men’s Fellowship.
ii) Organize inter-men’s fellowship with other churches
iii) Actively participate in the worship ministry
iv) Develop a proper car-park, resurface the field / garden in our church.

He further pointed that the men’s fellowship does not have a constitution or by-laws governing the fellowship. He requested to have a look at our women’s fellowship by-laws and come-up with our own.

  1. AOB
    1. Mr. Peter Rajamanickam wanted to know whether he can remove the names of members who had totally absconded themselves from the church and the men’s fellowship.
Mr.James Sivanathan suggested that we provide an “Acknowledgement Form to be a Member” to all men attending our church to determine their membership.
The committee had been suggested to look into the matters and it shall be discussed in the next meeting.

    2. Mr. James Henry suggested to members that in future we should not send emails (with regards to our fellowship matters) to members who have got no email addresses of their own.
Mr. John Selvaraj added that matters requiring a decision should be discussed in an ad hoc meeting rather than discussing in the email.

    3. Mr.Ganesh Kumar informed that St Mary’s Cathedral has taken up a shop lot at Bestari Jaya
(Batang Berjuntai) and plans to do mission work in partnership with Asarippu Kudaram Anglican Church in Sungei Buloh. The building needs some renovation and electrical fittings and we have been requested to consider doing the electrical fittings. St Mary’s Cathedral will bear the cost for the electrical fittings. A few of our men have shown their keenness in supporting this worthy cause.

Our next monthly meeting would be held on Friday 20/04/2012 in the church conference room at 8:00 pm.
